About Our City’s Seal

From Ryan Place, Champlain College student and designer of the city’s logo in 2016:

City seal 600 dpi

“This seal is likely to be encountered in Ralston for a variety of reasons. The city of Ralston is an “island city, farm island.” The seal depicts the island aspect of Ralston in the sense that it shows a small landmass neighboring the ocean. Along with this the seal features a lighthouse, typical of small islands. The farming aspect of Ralston is depicted by the pitchfork and the tilled landscape. This farm aspect of the seal could also be interpreted as the young community planting its roots and beginning to grow. Along with this the light sky and vibrant sun indicates that Ralston is a new, young city, with new beginnings. Lastly, the pitchfork and tilled ground also represent the green community of Ralston and how they are all about the earth and giving back to it.”
